Travel Operations Manager – Birmingham or Peterborough – £38k + perks NEG (PTR 6040)

Platinum Travel Recruitment are collaborating with a fabulous forward thinking travel company who are now seeking an experienced Travel Operations Manager, based in either the Birmingham or Peterborough office.
This is an exciting and varied role, ideal for an operations manager from a tour operator background, seeing a rewarding career.
The Travel Operations Manager shall lead, manage and optimise the day-to-day operational performance of the business, with sales delivery, operational efficiency, after-sales service and ticketing accuracy.
The Operations Manager is responsible for driving sales performance, maximising conversion, managing departmental KPIs, and ensuring high standards across the full customer lifecycle — from initial enquiry through to post-sale support and ticketing.
Travel Operations Manager – Essential Requirements
- Operational management experience within a tour operator is imperative.
- Strong commercial and sales-driven leadership.
- Proven experience managing performance in a call-centre environment.
- Excellent decision-making and problem-solving ability, including under pressure.
- Ability to coach, motivate and hold managers accountable.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and time management.
- High attention to detail and process discipline.
- Influential leadership and stakeholder management.
- Training, coaching and development capability.
Travel Operations Manager Duties:
- Own and drive overall sales performance across the Sales Department.
- Monitor sales KPIs, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
- Work closely with Sales Managers to motivate teams, manage incentives and improve engagement.
- Ensure sales messaging, offers and promotions are clearly communicated and consistently applied.
- Conduct regular operational checks to ensure service levels, productivity and quality standards are achieved.
- Implement, maintain and continuously improve operational procedures and best practice processes.
- Oversee ticketing and processing accuracy, timeliness and compliance.
- Monitor queues, backlogs and SLA adherence across after-sales and ticketing functions.
- Work with managers to identify training needs and improve operational capability.
- Ensure all departmental managers conduct regular one-to-one reviews with their teams.
